Helena Mattsson (SE), PhD, is an architect and associate professor at the School of Architecture at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. Her current research is part of the collaborative projects ‘The Architecture of Deregulation’ and ‘Architecture, Space, and Ideology’. She is a member of the steering committee for the research environment Architecture in Effect and an editor for the culture periodical SITE, and has written extensively on architecture, art and culture. Among other books, she is the co-editor with Sven-Olav Wallenstein of Swedish Modernism – Architecture, Consumption and the Welfare State (London: Black Dog, 2010), related to the project ‘Architecture and consumption in Sweden 1930 – 1970’ for which she was co-responsible at the Museum of Architecture in Stockholm. She is co-founder of the association Action Archive.
