Switch! Energy Futures is an example of critical design practice, in which forms and politics of different sustainable futures were embodied in fictional artifacts and scenarios. Staged as a participatory exhibition and debate with architects, engineers and designers, it was an arena for experiencing and debating alternatives, conflicts and choices in practice. It was developed by Ramia Mazé, Aude Messeter (FR), Thomas Thwaites (UK) and Basar Önal (SE/TK) at the Interactive Institute with funding from the Swedish Energy Agency in 2008-10.
