DESIGN ACT Socially and Politically Engaged Design Today highlighted and discussed contemporary practices that engage with political and societal issues such as gender and class, power and welfare. Set up to build an international network and a discourse among practitioners, it was carried out as a platform hosting a series of public presentations and dialogs, interviews and installations, an online archive and book. It was developed by Magnus Ericson and Ramia Mazé at Iaspis (the Swedish Arts Grants Committee’s International Programme for Visual Arts) in 2008-11.
